Trying to keep up!

Well apparently posting on the blog more often is not happening like I had hoped. Let me try to update you since the last post:

Addi is now 3!! She had a wonderful Tinkerbell birthday party here at the house complete with a pinata and a bounce house! Where she spent most of her time:) She had a blast with all of her friends and is asking for a bounce house for her next birthday already!

As for the new baby! IT'S A GIRL!!! We spent a lot of time trying to come up with a name for her and finally settled on Maya! The pregnancy is going very well and I am not on bed rest which is a nice change from Addi's pregnancy. Maya is always kicking and doing somersaults which makes me uncomfortable but is great for her. She is already very strong, which she is going to have to be to keep up with her big sister!

My due date is still October 23rd. It's coming fast and furious, seems way quicker than with Addi. Then again I didn't have Addi to keep me busy while I was pregnant the first time:)

We have spent a lot of time getting away from all of these record breaking heat days buy going up to the cabin for weeks at a time! Addi loves it up there and it was nice to get to see my parents who are both now retired and spending the entire summer up there! So smart! Being preggo and hot is just no fun at all as you could imagine.

Addi has been a big help getting the house ready for Baby Maya. She really seems to be grasping the idea and says that she is going to help mommy with the baby and teach Maya lots of things. This really came full circle for me last week when we had our dog Jane to visit for the week. Addi wanted nothing more than to help take care of Jane. She let her outside every time and was so excited to feed her! Addi is really growing up to be not only a beautiful little girl but so smart and willing to help! We couldn't be any prouder of her and can't wait to see how she interacts with her baby sister when she arrives!

Well it sure has been awhile!!!

The last time I posted was almost a year ago!! That time sure has flown by! Not even sure where to start but after harassment from Kristin and reading others blogs, I think it is time to start this up again!!

Ok so Easter was Yesterday. Crazy thought here, that was Addi's 4th Easter, but she is not even three yet (3 days away!!). How it this possible you ask? Well as you may recall she was born on Easter Sunday and since it doesn't fall on the same day every year, she has already celebrated it 4 times before her 3rd birthday. Crazy isn't it? Our Easter was just about the same as last years (and coincidentally the last post too) Just minus the Egg hunt with the Neighbors (they moved to Cali :( ) and minus the egg hunt here things were pretty much the exact same!!

Addi has grown up so incredibly much in the last year! She talks like crazy and almost always makes enough sense to understand what she wants. Her hair actually grew and she has had a few hair cuts by yours truly. She is very dramatic and needs to get into acting asap. It sounds funny but she really could be famous one day:) She defined the terrible two's like a champ and is already meeting all expectations of a three year old! I love her to death but she certainly knows how to push my buttons and keeps pushing until I just about lose it! Patience is thin these days but all it takes is one of her little smiles or hilarious remarks to make me forget all the bad things she has done and remind me how wonderful and beautiful she is. She still is in love with Minnie Mouse but has expanded her sights and is on a Tinkerbell kick!! You will soon see what I mean once her 3rd Birthday Party happens. Can you believe she will be 3 in three days!!!!? It just blows my mind!!! She is certainly not a little girl anymore and now a full fledged big girl! Which she will remind you of if you call her little :) She keeps herself and me very busy during the day, and now that the weather is nice and our backyard is finally done (yahoo!) she loves to be outside playing with bubbles or in her sandbox. I am sure that there are many many many more things I could update you on about Addi but this post doesn't need to take an hour to read.

Kyle is now working for San Tan VW and loves it! He works with wonderful people and actually has a lot of work to do instead of sitting around at Berge playing hackey sack waiting for work to come in. He is also in the middle of rebuilding a 66 bug. It is looking fantastic and will hopefully be done soon! He sure works hard but the payoff is amazing:)

As for me, I started my own cake business!! From previous pictures of Addi's first and second birthdays you can tell that I liked to be creative and luckily one of my old co-workers and friends saw my talent and asked me to make a cake for her baby gender reveal party and the business took off from there! It is so much fun and I love to be home working and still be able to be with Addi. You can check out my website at katyskreativecakes.blogspot.com. I also started working as a grip/assistant photographer for Moments Found Photography. I love being able to help and capture people's special day!! Plus I get to work with my good friend Angela and our boss is the best!!

As for Big News, we are expecting our second child October 23rd!!Yes it's true. I know I swore to never have another after the trauma of having a c section with Addi but I guess time make a person more reasonable. We find out the sex on May 3rd so keep posted for that!!

Well I suppose that is all for now, sorry if I missed anything important, this baby brain gets the best of me!

Easter 2011

What a crazy day Easter Sunday turned out to be! Filled with Family and fun, It couldn't have been better. We started off the day with Addi checking the carrots that she left out for the Easter Bunny. She looked at the half eaten carrots and exclaimed, "It Empty!" She was just shocked that they all weren't still there. Next we opened the Easter Basket that the Easter Bunny left for her. She loved the eggs and all the goodies that she found inside.

Next we went next door to the Formica's. They had hidden eggs in their backyard for their son Wesley and Addi to find. They did a really great job of sharing the eggs they found and had great eyes when it came to actually finding the hidden eggs! Very impressive! Super smart kiddos!

Next we headed to Dolores's family's house for an early Easter Dinner/Lunch. Dean and Wydale have a little girl named Cooper that is an exact look a like for what Addi will look like in a year and a half! They could be sisters! Blond hair, blue eyes, fun and hyper personalities. They got along great and seemed to really enjoy each others company. The conversation and food was excellent and unfortunately we had to leave early since we had to get to my parents house for another Easter Dinner!

When we got to my parents house Addi did an Easter Egg hunt inside their house and then outside too! We have more eggs than we know what to do with!!! It is amazing how quickly toddlers pick up on things, she was an old egg finding pro at the end of the day. She also opened a basket that the Easter Bunny left for Addi at Grana and Papa's house. Such a spoiled little girl! We ate more delicious food and couldn't eat another bite for the rest of the night!

We are so lucky to have family close by that we can share the holidays with. Too bad all of the families can't live closer!

Addi's 2nd Birthday!

Well the day finally came! Addison is officially 2! Although she has been 2 in attitude for a while now:) The day before the party was a little scary since it was in the 50s and raining and with her party being outside I feared the worst! The morning of her party we woke to clear skies without a cloud in sight. Whew, crisis averted. The only downside to the day was the crazy strong winds! We couldn't keep the table cloths down for anything! The balloons were all over the place and poping and the serve ware had to be weighed down with water bottles to keep them from escaping. Which wouldn't be a big deal to anyone else but I had an exact idea on how the tables were going to look and that was not at all what I had in mind. Oh well.

Addi seemed to be a little overwhelmed at the beginning with all the people running around trying to get situated before the guest started to arrive. She was really shy and timid and wouldn't talk to any one. That was nothing a little sugar couldn't fix! We gave her one of the pretzels I made and all of the sudden her attitude turned around and she was back to her old self!

As the guest arrived, everyone enjoyed the food and played on the playground of talked amongst themselves. Once it was cake time every one came together to sing "Happy Birthday" to Addi who seemed to enjoy all eyes on her and then we opened gifts! She was simply hilarious with the gifts! Every gift was just over exciting and she would shriek with joy as she started to open present after present. She kept on saying "more" after she discovered what was in the gift she had in her hands. Thanks to everyone that spoiled our little princess! We have such amazing friends and family. It was so fun to watch the joy on her face and hear the happiness in her voice.

All in all the party was great! Everyone seemed to have a good time and most important, Addi was happy!

Birthday Craziness!!!!

Well my Little Princess is less than a month away from turning two!! I just can't believe it, how did time possibly go so fast! She already completely embodies the two year old attitude and has done so for a few months now. Tantrums galore!! Complete meltdowns all over the place!! With all that said she is still the hilarious, sweet, caring little girl she has always been.

As I did last year, I have gone completely bonkers planning her party!! I found some amazing websites that helped me design certain elements to the party. I designed the invitation and envelope:
I designed and wrapped the silverware:
I made chocolate lollipops:
I designed a tank top and had it printed, then added the zebra on the sleeves:

I also made Minnie Mouse ears with Zebra Bows for her to wear:
and I couldn't stop there, I also made her new bedding along with a bed skirt, window valance, and roll pillow! Then I recovered her Minnie Mouse Lamp, repainted the Minnie Pink, and added the feathers and the dangling Minnie Heads:

The final gift all ready to be opened!

With all that said I am not even done! I am in the process of printing and cutting the water bottle labels and gift bag labels:

Needless to say I am exhausted! But I have loved every moment of creating all of this to make her Birthday special. Hopefully she will look back and appreciate what went into her Birthday. As soon as the party is done I will post the pictures of the cake (yes, I am making that too!) Vanilla sponge cake with Chocolate ganache and strawberries! YUMMY!
