Time flies when your having fun!

Addi is 7 weeks old! It's amazing how quickly time is flying. She is growing so fast, she has got to be 10lbs now. She still fits into all of the newborn clothes except a onesie that Kyle bought her at a car show. He's sad:(

She is getting so much better at focusing on peoples faces and she smiles a lot! She is also starting to reach out at her toys. She can't grab them or anything but you can tell she is trying to touch them. She followed a toy going side to side across her face too! She loves to watch her fishies swim by when she is in her swing. I love to watch her stare at them. It's so cute!

We have had a heck of a time trying to figure out her food situation. The doctor says that she has acid reflux so we put her on Zantac to try to fix the problem. It it mint flavored and she makes the most sour face when we try to give it to her and 9 times out of 10 she spits all of it out no matter what we do to keep it in her mouth! We also had to switch to another formula (one for gas and fussiness, which is what she seems to struggle with all day long). It worked for the first few days and then she was back to being uncomfortable and fussy all day long. Then the doctor said to try another formula called Nutramigen. This formula is almost two times the money for half the formula!! We have tried that for three days now and as bittersweet as it is, it seems to be working. It's funny to me how we thought we would be saving a bunch of money by breastfeeding her to now spending the money on the most expensive fomula out there! Figures. As long as it works it'll be worth the sacrifice.

We had a new
adventure last night! She got all dressed up in the adorable swim suit her Aunt Andrea bought her and we took a little dip in the pool. The water was a little bit cooler than I would have liked it so I only put her in up to her bottom. She didn't seem to mind it at all. She didn't cry or fuss, just looked around then fell asleep as soon as she got out. We had a bunch of friends over for a pool party for Kyles birthday and his friends from Virginia came with their son, who is only 6 days older than Addi. They took him in the water so I got brave and did the same. It was funny to see a baby so close in age to Addi. They acted almost exactly the same in their mannerisims. So cute!

Put a smile on your face

Addison just started really smiling willingly yesterday! I had to share it with you all. I think she has the best smile ever...if I don't say so myself!!

One Month Old!!

I can't believe that my baby is already one month old! It is amazing how quickly time is flying. I tried to prepare myself for it, but it makes me sad anyways. She had her one month check up today. It was obnoxious because when I got to the office they told me that my husband had called and rescheduled the appointment! I said, "Uh no. He doesn't even have the number to the office." Then the girl said, "Well then it was another male member of the household." That made me upset because they wouldn't take the fault of a scheduling error and kept trying to put the blame on me! She said that the appointment was rescheduled for April 27th and we no showed. I was thinking DUH! because we didn't reschedule it! HELLO! I asked her why would I reschedule her 1 month check up a week early. Today she is 1 month not the 27th. So after all the back and forth bantering she said they had to get the okay from the doctor to "work me in." Our appointment was supposed to be at 10:30am and we didn't see the doctor until 12:15! It was really annoying.

The doctor said that Addi is in the 97th percentile for height, 23 inches! She is going to be a really tall girl. We could have figured. Her weight is now 9.3lbs and in the 50th percentile. We thought she would have a large size head since Kyle's head is large but she is in the 50th percentile for the circumference too. Haha!

Addi has developed this strange coughing/hacking/gasping sound when she is being burped and it scared the heck out of all of us. The doctor determined that she has a slight acid reflux. I was relieved that it wasn't anything too serious, but it means that we have to throw the savings of the Costco brand formula to the way side, bite the bullet and keep her on a Soy based formula for a few weeks to see if it will correct the problem.

All in all she is healthy and growing well! She is getting better at trying to smile. She does it a lot while waking up but still not too much when she is fully awake. I can't wait until she is smiling all the time! I love every minute I get to spend with her. She truly is a blessing to us and we can't wait to see where the next month is going to take us!

3 weeks old already!

Yesterday Addison turned three weeks old! I can't believe that in one week she will already be one month old! It's crazy! She is such a wonderful baby. Granted she hasn't gotten on a set sleeping schedule, unless you count her thinking that the night time is appropriate to be awake.

She did the cutest thing today! She started to giggle in her sleep! It melted my heart. I love when she smiles in her sleep and that was just the icing on the cake. It sounded to sweet and innocent. Can't wait until she does it awake and willingly.

She has had many visitors and has only been awake for about two or three of them. It sort of bums me out since she has such beautiful eyes and only a few people have gotten to see them. Every day it seems like she is becoming more alert and stays awake a little bit longer. She must be going through some pretty big growth spurts because she eats every two hours and I even bumped up her formula to 3oz!

She really seems to like her octopus toy. Its a blue octopus that has colors that you can push on its tentacles that say the color with a rhyme. She will stare at that for a long time as long as you keep pushing the buttons.

She is really getting good at being on her tummy mat. Her neck is so strong and her legs are too. She already gets herself half way over on her side. She could probably get all the way over if she could figure out how to get her arm underneath her and not out to her side.
