Only 2 More Months Until Addi is ONE!!!

As I am sure some of you will not be surprised, I have already begun plans for Addison's 1st Birthday Party! I can't help myself and now that she is 10 months old I really gotta get the plans finalized so I don't have to do it all the last minute like I always do. I have decided to do most of the preparations myself including making the invitations, cake and all the way to making her a dress to wear! Yes I am crazy, but I love it!!

Can you believe that she is walking already!? She started to get gutsy and let go of the furniture around 9 months and now she books it all the way across the family room! She still isn't 100% sturdy but she really gets around and is getting more stable every day! She is talking a lot too! Mostly "DADADADADA" recently but does a few others too. She finally popped her top front two teeth which couldn't have come any sooner since, as you can tell from the previous post, she was barely sleeping. She slept really well once they came through but now it seems as though she is getting more because her sleep is all off again and she is getting crankier. Temper tantrums are the newest development and man can she get angry!! She rolls around on the floor and screams at the top of her lungs if she doesn't get her way. She likes to test everyone with what she can get away with and refuses to listen and understand the word "NO". I am trying to not say it too often but when she is doing something that is going to hurt herself or someone else I have to do it. I really have to say it loud and deep for her to really respond, hopefully she starts to get it soon.

She's growing so fast! I knew it would go by quick but I didn't think it would be this quick! Almost a year!?? Whew what a rush, what a big girl!

Yay Addi is almost 1! My little man throws quite a temper tantrum too. He crawls away and hides and won't look at me when he knows I'm upset! Silly boy. Anyway, if you don't want to use the word "NO" too often here's what we did with Maddie (and are doing with Max); I speak to them as I would speak to anyone else [using adult conversation]... I talk to them and tell them why I don't want them to do certain things. Like, "Max, don't climb on that chair or you might fall down. I don't want you to get hurt." It is amazing how his vocabulary has grown because we don't just leave it at "NO." Because of the "adult talk" Maddie was saying about 80 words and speaking in sentences when she was 18 months; the average is about 10 words at 18 months. Max is about up to 20 words right now too and he's 15 months, but boys are a little slower than girls. I hope that helps. You might already be doing that, but I thought I'd share it with you anyway. Congrats, let us know how the 1st Birthday party turns out!

Thanks for the advice, I had read about explaining why they shouldn't do things, but she seems to not care when I tell her no or explain it! I guess she is just not old enough yet. Or maybe she is stubborn like me and her daddy:)
