The countdown to one year!

This time last year I was on bed rest, dreaming of what parenthood would be like. I was getting stuff organized from the baby shower and the crib was all ready for our little bundle to arrive. It's amazing to me how quickly a year can go by. Every year that passes seems to get faster (all except the year I was pregnant I suppose, that was the longest I could remember, haha) and I hope it'll slow down a little bit. In less than a month Addison will be One! Incredible! I have been preparing for the last 2 months for her party and I am so excited for it to be here. In the spirit of saving money I am trying to make a lot of the decorations and such. I hand made all of the invitations cutting out the faces, bows and hole punching the dots for the bows. I made a banner that says Happy Birthday Addison and I party hat that is of course Minnie Mouse-ish. I plan on making her a super sized cup-cake and cute little matching cupcakes for all the guests. Did I mention that we are expecting around 40 people? I must be crazy!! As mentioned before I also made her dress for the party, which I am hoping will still fit by her party. She is growing so fast that I am not sure it will!

She is so grown up now! She walks everywhere, almost runs! My mother bought Addi her first pair of nice shoes, appropriate for her stage of walking. She really seems to like them and adjusted to them quickly. I was shocked at how expensive baby shoes are!! I don't even spend that much on shoes for me! Luckily they were having a buy one get one half off sale and Stride rite. She is already in size 5 1/2! I thought maybe a 4 at the most but not almost a size 6. She is going to be just like me and have a terrible time finding cute shoes that fit her and don't look like clown shoes. She is still obsessed with Minnie Mouse, which she better be since it is going to be involved in every part of her party:)

Her mood swing are still very dramatic but I think she is learning that it is not the way to get my attention. She makes noise almost all day long, whether she is saying her "dada's" or "mama's" and even a few "Cat-ata's" (cat) and "Gog" (dog). She loves to be outside walking around or just laying on the blanket watching the leaves blow in the wind. She is really good at testing my patience too. She knows the word No but always presses on to see how long it will take me to go over and stop her. Her favorite thing to do now is point at anything and everything and say "Dat" (that). She is so curious and wants to know what everything is. The diaper changing has not gotten any easier, she is my little "Tasmanian devil" when is comes to diapers or clothes chantings. I am hoping that she will grow out of that stage soon. It is so tiring and frustrating to fight to get clothes on her. It should take seconds but actually takes 5 minutes plus! Another thing that she does now is blowing "zerberts"/fart noises on the leather ottoman. She will just walk over and smash her face down and start blowing. We can't stop laughing at her silliness. Last night she amazed us by crawling up the back part of our bench out back. It has little square cut outs and she decided that she would stick her feet into them and hoist herself up! We couldn't believe how smart she was to figure that out! Now I just have to hope that she doesn't use that skill to get out of her crib! Lastly she finally gives us kisses at her own will! It can get slobbery at times but I love that she will lean in when you ask for a kiss:)

We did have another round of being sick this month:( I was treated for strep throat and Addi ended up with an ear infection which led to pink eye all with a cold! She was miserable for a day or two then was completely better, besides a cough that just won't go away for any of us.

All smiles outside!

I realized that I have been neglecting to post recent videos of Addison! She is doing so many new things and I take so many videos but always forget to post them on here!

Only 2 More Months Until Addi is ONE!!!

As I am sure some of you will not be surprised, I have already begun plans for Addison's 1st Birthday Party! I can't help myself and now that she is 10 months old I really gotta get the plans finalized so I don't have to do it all the last minute like I always do. I have decided to do most of the preparations myself including making the invitations, cake and all the way to making her a dress to wear! Yes I am crazy, but I love it!!

Can you believe that she is walking already!? She started to get gutsy and let go of the furniture around 9 months and now she books it all the way across the family room! She still isn't 100% sturdy but she really gets around and is getting more stable every day! She is talking a lot too! Mostly "DADADADADA" recently but does a few others too. She finally popped her top front two teeth which couldn't have come any sooner since, as you can tell from the previous post, she was barely sleeping. She slept really well once they came through but now it seems as though she is getting more because her sleep is all off again and she is getting crankier. Temper tantrums are the newest development and man can she get angry!! She rolls around on the floor and screams at the top of her lungs if she doesn't get her way. She likes to test everyone with what she can get away with and refuses to listen and understand the word "NO". I am trying to not say it too often but when she is doing something that is going to hurt herself or someone else I have to do it. I really have to say it loud and deep for her to really respond, hopefully she starts to get it soon.

She's growing so fast! I knew it would go by quick but I didn't think it would be this quick! Almost a year!?? Whew what a rush, what a big girl!

Sleep oh sleep, where have you gone??

Addison seems to have something going on and I assume that it is teething. After over a month maybe even two months she finally popped her top front two teeth! But this didn't come without lots of crabby moments and sleepless nights. The past week has been miserable and even though the teeth came through she is still not sleeping!!! I am not sure if there are more teeth on the way in or if there is something else going on that I am not able to notice. In the past if she woke up in the middle of the night she would eat her bottle and then go right back to sleep, NOT ANYMORE! Now she want's to be up for hours and screams at the slightest movement to her crib. Last night I finally got the courage to let her cry it out and I was miserable. She screamed louder than ever and was gasping for air. She suddenly stopped and then I couldn't sleep thinking that maybe she passed out and that's the reason for the instant quietness. Then a half hour later she was up again!!! Once I finally got her back to sleep she was up an hour and a half later, and wouldn't calm down. I put her in the pack and play, which she hates, but I can't keep her from wiggling around while I hold her and I can't just let her wonder around while I sleep. Needless to say she screamed in my ear for a good half hour while I put the pillow over my head and prayed for sleep. To make matters worse Kyle is out of town for work and I have a feeling that is making her uneasy. He comes home tonight, thank goodness. I've tried every tip that people have given me and am at a loss for what to do next. I have to get some sleep here or I am afraid I am going need a mental institution:) But seriously, it makes things much easier to handle when I get decent sleep. Let's all pray that this gets better and quick!!....Ahhhh nothing like a little venting to help relieve some stress

9 Months Old!!

I could cry at how fast this little girl is growing up! Can it really be 9 months ago that she was born? REALLY!? She is only three months away from her first birthday, it's crazy!

She had her 9 month check up this morning and I was so happy that she didn't have to get any shots. Her doctor says that she looks really good and is such a grown up girl! She is at a year developmentally, she weights 20.15lbs which puts her in the 80%, she is 29in long putting her at 95% and her head circumference is 48in which puts her at 99%!!
We gotta give all the credit for that one to her daddy! She must have a lot of brains filling that giant head of hers:) LOL He once again said that she is going to be a really tall girl. I just hope that she finds a really tall boy someday.

She is really cruising around the house now, crawling every place that she can. She is also getting really good at using the furniture to walk. She even will take a step or two free handed, but there has to be a couch or something to grab on to close by. She babbles a bunch too, ma-ma-ma's, da-da-da's, ba-ba-ba's are very common and she has started Nu-nu-nu's/Ne-ne-ne's which cracks me up because I think she is trying to say no. When she see's pictures or reflections of her self she shrieks in delight, and recognizes other babies and cats and dogs when looking in books. She still is lacking hair but what she does have seems to be getting a little thicker and really blond.
She still only had the two teeth but when we were at the doctor he showed me her gums and you can really see the ridges of her top teeth so those should be here soon! I just started letting her attempt to feed herself with a spoon and she is getting better at using her sippy cup. She was so pleased that I let her use a spoon, I think she really liked doing it herself!

Illness update

We have definitely had our share of sicknesses in the house and with family! Addison really seems to be getting over her croup well. She only has a stuffy nose, which came back so I am hoping it's not the start of something else. I on the other hand have been sick since the 28th of December. I was feeling a lot better after seeing the doctor last Monday and taking the Amoxicillin she prescribed. Then on Saturday I woke up feeling terrible again! My sinuses felt like they were going to explode and I could barely take the pressure. Sunday was a little better and today seems to be better still. Fingers crossed that this is the end of the longest illness I can remember. This was not how I wanted to start my year but I am ready for it to be better. My parents were both sick with some sort of cold too. Then my dad ended up getting shingles on top of it! Also my father in law is sick too! What a bang we all made to start 2010. Lets pray that we all get 100% better and have a healthy rest of the year.
