No Christ in Christmas!!??

So I am hearing more and more about how people are trying to make Christmas not about Christ! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? What do they think its about then? Santa Clause? It makes me really sad that society it trying to take religion out of everything. It is what this country stood on all the way up until now. Who thinks they have the right to change it? They take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance and now they are making it just the Holidays and not Christmas. I am going to make sure that Addison grows up in a world that celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ and that God is in all that we do. I don't ever want her to feel that it is wrong to believe in religion and God, or feel ashamed to wish someone a MERRY CHRISTMAS! Who is with me? :)

8 Months Old And On The Move!!

Addison must have ants in her pants because she never slows down anymore! (unless she decides that it's time for a nap) She has officially learned to crawl and loves to pull herself up on anything that she can possible reach her little hands on! She wants to stand all day long and even gets gutsy and lets go HANDS FREE for a few seconds until she plops down on the ground, usually on her behind but sometimes on her face! She seems to not really mind the face plants and just wants to get back to standing faster than she fell. She is a little wiggle worm and is constantly on the move. I am feeling pretty confident in saying that by the end of the month she will probably have started walking without using the couch to guide her. Her newest goal is to figure out how to scream at the highest pitch she can find. She sits and screams and you can hear her voice give out when she hits a pitch that she can't get to yet. It's not the crying type of screaming it's just the lets get my vocal cords to develop as loud as they can type. She loves it and is so pleased with herself when she can get that shrill squeak out. It's hilarious. I think that she is really getting excited for Christmas. She loves to look at the lights (as we saw when her Aunt Andrea took us to Zoo Lights last night) and she also opened her first Christmas gifts last weekend and had a good time figuring out what is in the package and how do I get it out and Oh this box and bag that the gift came in is super cool too! She also attended her buddy Oskars first birthday party. She isn't as interactive with other babies as I thought she would be but she hasn't had that much interaction with kids in the first place. She seemed to have a good time though and loved her first taste of chocolate frosting. She almost broke skin trying to get the last bit of it off my finger! Then she had a good screaming in joy episode shortly after which I swear was a side effect of the chocolate! It like she got a sugar rush and couldn't handle the excitement:) I can't wait until her first Christmas!

Thanksgiving!

Well I survived hosting my first Thanksgiving! I was one huge ball of stress days before and the actual day but everything went very well and we had a great time! I had 10.5 people over for dinner (My mom and dad, Kyle's mom Natalie and her husband Dennis, Natalie's sister Elissa, Kyle's sister Andrea, out roomate Levi, my best friend Kristin and the three of us!) Addison really did well for all the visitors and had a bunch of fun bonding with her family members that she doesn't see on a normal basis. The day after Thanksgiving Elissa's daughter Miriam and her 2 boys Mason and Miles came over to visit and meet Addison for the first time. Addi again did great, I think the change from her every day routine was nice for her. She needed a little change of pace.

We put up all of our Christmas decorations and are very excited for Christmas to be here. I am slightly nervous though because I found out the the pain in my groin area ( as previously mentioned) is acutally a cyst on my ovary and my OB wants to laproscopically remove it. The surgery is scheduled for the 18th of December. I am so leary about being put under but I think that I am making it more of a big deal than it needs to be. AT this point I am hopeful because the pain has really started to subside and is a lot less frequent. Maybe I won't have to have surgery?? Fingers are acrossed.

Addi is learning new things everyday and is crawling in her own sort of floppity way and has learned how to sit up on her own. She is also pulling herself up to standing without any help but can't hold herself steady enough to move around. She is almost 8 months now and I will update again when that day comes! Hope all is well for everyone! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Can it really be 7 months already?

Yes it can, and it is! My once tiny, precious, little newborn is now a big, still precious, curious, gutsy 7 month old!! She sure has changed in such a short time. She is pulling herself up to standing (which she would do all day if she could), already has two bottom teeth with the tops on their way in, almost crawling ( she just can't figure out how to get her hands to move properly with her feet), eating and loving everything she has tried (bananas seem to be her favorite), and learning to express herself in new (LOUD) ways :) She is starting to go through the "Mommy only" stage and I am learning how to please her and attempt to keep my little amount of sanity. There has definitely been a few rough days but a visit to the doctor helped me understand her needs and how to teach her that Mommy needs to get things done around the house and she can't hold you ALL DAY LONG! It's been tough but she is spoiled and I can't continue down this path without there being major tantrums down the road. I know there is no such thing as too much love but I am keeping her from learning how to entertain herself. All in all she is a very happy, healthy, loved little girl and Kyle and I can barely contain our excitement for sharing her first Thanksgiving and Christmas with her!

Happy Halloween-Week

We had a pretty exciting week for Halloween! We went to a pumpkin carving and chili party with the Malonee Family, then to a Harvest Festival on my parents street, and then Trick or Treating at my parents house! It was fun and Addi had many costumes to wear! Here are the pictures:
