I'm slacking! But I'm back!

Boy oh Boy did I miss a whole month on here! That went too fast! Things are going day by day with Addi. She sure knows what she wants and how to get it! Too spoiled if you ask me. I know everyone says you can't spoil them too much at this age but I ask those people to come and spend a day with my little miss and see if they change their opinion about that one! I love the girl to death but she is out of control! Screaming at every semi-difficult task, completely ignoring me, and doing whatever she wants whenever she wants. Sounds spoiled to me! Oh the other hand she can be super sweet by walking up and randomly giving kisses to copying the silly things we do. She grabs paper towels when in reach and starts rubbing the floors and tables around the house, she does this adorable fake laugh when Kyle and I are laughing at something on the television, and she wears my purse and grabs my cell phone looking just like a grown up girl on the move! Whew it's exhausting and majorly entertaining.

She took swim lessons this past month. They were quite corny if you ask me and she wasn't really all that into them while we were there. She wouldn't pay attention to the lessons and watched everyone else in the class do what they were supposed to and refused to do the tasks herself when asked. Then you put her in the tub that night for a bath and then all her skills came out in full force. She would blow bubbles and kick the water like crazy! Why couldn't she do it in class for the instructor?! So silly! Now she is a total fish in the water. She loves to jump off of the side of the pool, kick her legs, blow bubbles, even dip herself under the water without inhaling all of it! We recently acquired a hot tub from Kyle's mother and got that hooked up last weekend. She LOVES IT! It is perfect for her since there are lots of high and low places for her to explore, plus she can touch the bottom and still have her head out of the water! She is soo tall! I think we are going to have to throw some blocks of ice in there over the rest of the summer so she can enjoy it more often. It's been a crazy month, that's for sure!

Addison's First Vacation!!

We have done a few one day trips up to Flagstaff but this past weekend we took a trip up to my parents cabin in Pinetop-Lakeside for 5 days! It was nerve racking getting every thing packed to keep Addison happy during the car trip there and back and while we were there. I completely over packed (which I always do) but was glad when we got there and the weather was warmer than I had expected. Made me glad that I threw in a few sets of warm weather clothes the last minute. We had a blast sitting on the porch enjoying the beautiful weather, sipping martini's (my Mom and I that is). We took Kyle to a restaurant called the Munich House for his Birthday and ate delicious German cuisine:) The restaurant was on a Lake and it was so pretty out. I sat Addi on a ledge of the deck and these two HUGE geese starting honking and making all this noise at her. I wonder if they thought she was food or something! The next day we went to Horseshoe Lake and did a little fishing, and I mean little! Kyle was the only one to catch anything and caught two fish. Well let me rephrase that, Kyle and Levi did catch a Crawdad by forcing it out from underneath a rock and hooking it onto a fishing pole. It was a big sucker too! We also played a lot of horseshoes. Addi was in a wonderful mood the entire time. I really think that she enjoys being outside in the fresh air. My parents baby proofed their patio and I must say that Addi had quite the awesome set up! I think it was more baby proofed than our house! We really had a blast and didn't want to come home at all. I think I foresee a lot of trips up there over the summer to get out of this heat!

Project: Family Tree

After seeing adorable trees painted on walls all over the place on the internet and friends facebook pages I decided that I just had to do one myself! I had this extra space on Addi's wall after taking down her canopy (which she would pull through the slats in her crib and became a hazard so it had to go) and I wasn't sure what to do with it. After seeing yet another person with a beautiful tree painted on their daughters wall I knew what I had to do! A Family Tree!! I had a bunch of ideas on how to do it so I went down to Michaels to see what they might have to make it happen. I knew I wanted picture frames to hang on the tree of all our immediate family members. Luck would have it that they had these cute leaf shaped frames on sale for .99! I snatched up all of them (Luckily they had the exact amount I needed) and than everything else fell into place. I found awesome metallic paint to make leaves and a cute bird house to hang in the tree and pretty flowers to bloom from the branches!! If you know me well, I have no patience once I get an idea in my head. I raced home and thankfully Addi was ready for a nap. A long one too! I got all the leaves and the birdhouse painted. I drew out my "blueprints" and once she woke up I drew my template on the wall behind her crib. Once Kyle came home from work I got right to it and quickly painted the tree on the wall. Then after some help from Kyle with placing the frames on the wall I finished in record time! Total of about three hours including the painting of the frames and everything! I am so pleased with the outcome and can't wait to take individual pics of our Family to put in the frames! Here is the pics of my process:)
