Catching up

Well the first week back at work has been going pretty well. I told my boss the news and she reacted just as I had expected her to. Kind of excited but kind of not, but what can you really expect when I am the third person in the last 6 months to tell her that I am pregnant! I have been feeling pretty good, no morning sickness yet (knock on wood again), I have been getting pretty strange leg cramps and lower back pain though. Not really anything to complain too much about. We are really looking forward to the ultrasound a week from today! The anticipation is killing me and I wonder how I am ever going to get through the next 9 months. Its reminding me of how anxious I was when Kyle and I got married, it can't come soon enough. But I also want it to go slowly because you don't really have that many opportunities in life to be really huge and have people think its cute! Ha ha :)

I have been keeping up pretty well with eating healthy, its surprisingly easy! Strange how its easier for me to eat well when I am pregnant but when I was trying to eat healthy to lose weight it felt impossible. I am also surprised and actually proud of myself, I haven't had any caffeine since I found out that I was pregnant which is huge because I was pretty much addicted to it. Had a coffee everyday and even soda on top of that. Maybe I will be able to keep it up after I give birth and come out of this healthier than I started!

The Weekend

We headed up to Flagstaff this weekend to visit Kyle's mom Natalie and her husband Dennis. When we got there we had to wait for Dennis to come home from work which was really hard because we were so anxious to tell them the news! When he finally got there we presented them with the shirts and they both seemed really excited! Natalie said that she was wondering when we were going to be giving that news. She said that she was thinking about it while we were on the way up there. She must have sensed it was coming.

Friday was the first day that I felt really terrible. I don't think that it was morning sickness or anything but I had a terrible headache and I could barely keep my eyes open! After dinner we got back to the house and I went straight up to bed which was around 6:30 to 7:00pm. I slept all the way until the next morning! Man I needed that extra sleep!

On Sunday we were able to tell Kyle's Dad Terry and his wife Dolores the news! We gave them the shirts and they were very surprised! Wanting to know when the big day was and when we had found out. They were very excited!

It was a great feeling to have told the family! We has a really great time doing it and definitely surprised everyone just as we had hoped.

The Doctors Appointment

Today we meet with a doctor who gave us the confirmation that we are for sure pregnant! She guesstimated that I am about 5-6 weeks along and due April 17th!They had to take 5 vials of blood which was not fun at all but at least it will give us a good idea how things are going so far. It is still really early in the pregnancy so therefore I am crazy nervous about the possibility of a miscarriage.

I finally was able to tell my parents today which went exactly as I had thought it would. I made shirts for all of the family members and very close friends saying grandma, grandpa, aunt and uncle to be '09. I told my parents by putting the shirts in boxes and making up a story that we had found something cool for the both of them and had them open it at the same time. At first my mom Ginny didn't really read it cause she said "Oh how nice!" and then when she really read it she screamed "REALLY!... OH MY GOSH" and my dad Jim just kind of stood there shocked! I started to cry and then my mom did and my dad still stood there not really saying anything. They both gave us huge hugs and kisses and all my mom could do is grab my dads arm saying "OH MY GOSH I AM SO EXCITED!!!" It was a perfect moment, one that I don't think I will ever forget. When my dad finally did talk speak a whole sentence he said, " I'll never see your mother again cause she is going to spend all her time shopping for the baby, we're gonna be broke." We all had a good laugh.

My best friend Kristin was there for all of it, I gave her the shirt I made for her too and she keeps on saying "Oh my goodness, I can't believe it!"

Kyle had spoken to his sister Andrea earlier this evening and I could hear her excitement over the phone sitting in the next chair. I am sad because she won't be in town when we go to Flagstaff tomorrow to tell Kyle's Mom and her husband. But I am glad that we were able to get a hold of her and tell her the news. Tomorrow is going to be another very exciting day and I know that we are both really looking forward to it.

We're Pregnant!

So today August 20th, is the day that we found out that I was pregnant! As of this morning I was 10 days late and knew that I had waited long enough, it was time to take that final test that said the news that I felt was coming. So as soon as I took the test the results were clearer than ever! I WAS PREGNANT!! I walked into the family room and just stood there smiling at Kyle holding the test. He smiled back and said "What?" and I said "look at this!" He then looked at me with huge eyes and a slight smile saying "Does this mean you're pregnant?" I said yes and we hugged. I don't know about Kyle but I had every emotion possible run through me at that moment. I ran for the phone and made a phone call to a doctors office that I had previously found ( just for this moment ) and made an appointment for tomorrow at 9:50am. At this point I am bursting with anticipation of telling our family. We did cheat a little though and told a close friend. Kristin knew that I was taking a test so I just had to tell her the results or she would have figured it out anyways! So now I am up at a very late hour because I can't sleep, my mind is buzzing like crazy! I can't wait for tomorrow when I get confirmation that this crazy thing is really happening and we can finally tell the world our wonderful news!
